The Prettiest Cab Stand In New York
I swear I’ve gone by the Yakuel cab stand on 12th Street and the Queensboro Bridge a million times without ever looking inside. Other than the bright new paint job and the nice potted plants, it really doesn’t seem any different from most cab stands in this area of Queens. Except, the plants outside… …are…

This is the story of a little house in Queens that broke my heart.
Kermit The Frog In Queens
So I’ve been scouting rooftops in Queens recently. Quick question: am I nuts… …or does it look like this lawn design was inspired by Kermit the Frog? -SCOUT
Houdini’s Final Vanishing Act in Queens
Cypress Hills Street might as well be called the Graveyard Highway. A wide, four-lane thruway located in Glendale, Queens, it cuts through The Cemetery Belt – a sprawling collection of cemeteries established after the State Rural Cemeteries Act of 1847 forbade the creation of any new cemeteries in Manhattan. Thanks for the pic Scout. I used to walk with my dog, Phineas, here all the time when I lived in Forest Hills. Queens has some amazing places for those willing to do some exploring.
Scout, very, very pretty and just love the way you framed the towers in there.
You need to make a Kickstarter project for this movie. I bet it would get funded in like an hour.
If you like this, cross the Hudson to New Jersey and check out Newark’s gorgeous Branch Brook Park, with the largest collection of cherry blossom trees in America (many more than Washington, DC). The park’ southern end is adjacent to the magnificent Newark Basilica (I forget which saint it’s named for); we go to europe to see buildings like this!
Thanks for all the effort you obviously put into this. I just discovered Scouting NY and it’s great!
