Local & Interstate Moving & Storage
I was scouting recently in northern Long Island and happened to drive by this old moving/storage company garage…
I love the vintage sign, complete with the old telephone interchange – in this case, ORiole refering to OysteR Bay, NY. Confirming the sign’s authenticity, the company’s telephone number still ends in 6-0114 to this day.
However, my favorite bit is this great little retro sign on the left side of the building (you can just see it in the first picture):
Very cool.

Hey — right in my neighborhood! It’s so weird to see something like this on the internet — something so unremarkable to me that I see all the time. Except now that you’ve pointed it out, it is a cool old sign, of the type that, if it were somewhere else, I’d be really impressed with.
I hope you were on your way to some Gold Coast mansions.
Hey, I work right by there. I hope you get a chance to post some more LI stuff in the future.
Hey Scouting NY-
Love the blog, was surprised to see something I’m rather familiar with on here. If you ever need some good locations check out my blog on Long Island’s ‘Gold Coast’ estates, I’ve covered about 190 so far and have no doubt many of them would be GREAT for movies (or tv or print or the like).

Merry Christmas!
Live right near that place and whenever I drive by I always take a second to appreciate it. It’s so cool. The area around it- Old Brookville, Locust Valley, Oyster Bay etc. are riddled with so many old mansions, country clubs and such. It’s an amazing area.
