An Encounter With Nature
I was biking on one of the great bike paths along Cape Cod when, out of nowhere, a cute brown fox with black legs ran out onto the path ahead of me, literally about 10 feet away. I quickly froze and watched the fox, who didn’t seem to care that I was around. My camera was deep in my bag, and I knew that the minute I got it out and figured out the settings, the fox would dart into the woods. But I don’t see foxes all that often, so I tore off my backpack, shifted through the contents, yanked out the camera, turned it on, got the settings right, pulled the camera to my eye and snapped a shot…
Right as the fox started peeing.
Perfect timing. I kept waiting for the fox to stop, hoping for that perfect adorable nature shot…But it just kept going! (I swear, the fox kept giving me looks like, “Hey buddy, does it look like I care that you’re not getting a good picture?”).
Then, literally the second it finished, it turned around…
…and raced off up the hill…
…stopping only once to survey its work.
And then it was gone. Ah, the wonders of nature.

there are a lot of foxes & coyotes on cape cod. be sure to carry a flashlight if going for a walk at night.
She’s a FOX- beautiful! Great timing!
Much bigger than the foxes I’m used to seeing around here – still good pictures, even if they aren’t the “beautiful nature shot” you were looking for.
Have fun on the cape and enjoy your vacation!
That fox appears to be peeing like a racehorse.
